How Do I Care For My Jewellery?

Ellis’ jewellery is designed for everyday wear, but should be taken off when doing a physical task, such as exercising, as this could result in damage to a stone. Clean regularly with a soft toothbrush, liquid soap and warm water to avoid any build up of dirt and keep the stones looking their best.

As with all fine jewellery, stone settings should be checked occasionally. If there is any signs of movement please return the jewellery to us to inspect and adjust. Utmost care has been taken to set stones securely however Ellis Mhairi Cameron is not responsible for the loss of stones after purchase. We recommend purchasing insurance, to safeguard against any accidental damage or loss. We are happy to provide complimentary insurance valuations for your pieces.

Although Ellis’ jewels are designed to change with the wearers’ lifestyle and habits throughout the years, Ellis is happy to recondition items and return their original finish and lustre. Please email to arrange deep cleaning.

You can read our full Care Advice here.

How Do I Find Out My Ring Size / My Partner's Ring Size?

If you do not know your size, please make an appointment with Ellis to check before ordering, or visit your local jeweller for sizing if you cannot visit Ellis in her London studio.

For surprise proposals, where you cannot check the size before hand, we recommend ordering the ring size we have in stock (see Product Details), and then contacting us post proposal to have your ring sized.

Certain styles of rings, such as eternity bands, cannot be resized, so please endeavour to find out your correct ring size to avoid disappointment, or email for advice.

How Do You Source Your Gold?

Ellis is committed to sourcing all her jewellery materials in an ethical and sustainable manner. The jewellery is cast using 100% recycled gold using British suppliers, based in the UK. Every jewellery piece can also be ordered in FairTrade Gold; please enquire about this as it does affect price. All jewellery has been certified in accordance with the Hallmarking Act 1973.

If you would like any further details about the supply chain, email hello@ellismhairicameron.com

How Do You Source Your Diamonds?

Ellis works with a selection of independent, reputable diamond suppliers based in London and India. The diamonds are sourced in an ethical and traceable way.

Each diamond Ellis uses has been individually selected for its unique beauty. Please keep this in mind, as the diamonds used in your jewellery will also be unique, so they may vary slightly in size and colour from imagery you may have seen.

Do You Provide Certificates For Your Diamonds?

Ellis does not provide GIA certificates for diamonds, as she does not look to present industry deemed perfection within her pieces. However, if you would specifically like GIA certified diamonds in your jewellery, these can be especially sourced for you.

Please keep in mind that a GIA certificate will impact the price of the diamonds used, and therefore the finished piece of jewellery, significantly.

Is Every Piece One Of A Kind?

Each piece of jewellery is completely handmade in Ellis' London studio, meaning every creation is inherently one of a kind. As a result, slight variations in stone size, diamond tone, and metal finish will naturally occur, and finished pieces may differ subtly from photographs you’ve seen online or in previous examples.

This is especially true for our Excavations collection, where the diamonds used are often selected for their highly unusual and rare colouring. These distinctive shades are not easily sourced or reproduced, making exact replication of any design particularly challenging. While we always strive to match the aesthetic and style shown in photographs, the individuality of these stones means that no two pieces will ever be identical.

This inherent variation is a key part of the imperfect beauty that defines the Ellis brand — every piece carries its own unique story, shaped by the rare materials used and the handcrafting process.

If you have specific expectations around colour, tone, or stone characteristics, or if you’re unsure whether a particular stone can be matched closely, we encourage you to reach out to our team before placing your order. We’re always happy to discuss available options and ensure clarity before production begins.

Can You Personalise An Existing Design For Me?

Every piece in the collection can be customised with a preferred type, colour or size of stone and preferred precious metal alloy. Ellis can guide you through the collections and possibilities that can be explored to make one of an existing design more personal to you. Please contact hello@ellismhairicameron.com to enquire.

Do You Work In Other Metals?

Our main collection is made in 14 carat (585) yellow gold. All pieces can be made to order in the following metals; 18ct gold, platinum or palladium. Every piece can also be made in white gold or rose gold. For pricing please enquire.

Can I Commission A Bespoke / Custom Piece Of Jewellery?

If you’re looking for something completely unique, within the Ellis Mhairi Cameron aesthetic, Ellis offers a private consultation with Ellis in person, via video chat, or over the phone. This is an exclusive opportunity to learn about Ellis' creative process and bring to life an original piece of jewellery for you to treasure. Please note we have a minimum spend of £10,000 for completely bespoke designs, due to the extra care and time we dedicate to bespoke projects. Read more here.

Can You Reuse My Heirloom Diamonds & Gold In A New Piece?

Ellis specialises in reworking heirloom jewellery, creating a new piece of jewellery for you within the Ellis Mhairi Cameron aesthetic.

As each piece of heirloom jewellery is unique, please contact hello@ellismhairicameron.com to discuss the pieces you have, and how you would like them reworked. We do also offer a trade in service, where if you have unwanted pieces of solid gold jewellery, these can be traded in for market value credit to be spent on pieces from the collection, or to be put towards a custom project.

Please email to discuss a reworked piece, or read more here.

I Don't Live In London, How Do I Commission Remotely?

Ellis is more than happy to work remotely on your piece of jewellery. She has created pieces for clients all over the world, and will be able to talk you through the process so you feel confident ordering.

Can I Have My Jewellery Engraved?

Ellis offers an engraving service if you would like your jewellery engraved with a personal message.

Please email to discuss your engraving and Ellis will contact you with finer details including font options and pricing. As a guide, up to 15 characters, such as a date or couples name (eg. '20.04.2020' or 'James & Alice') will be £95.

Do You Offer A Warranty On Your Jewellery?

Every piece made by Ellis Mhairi Cameron is designed to be worn and loved everyday, but as with all fine jewellery, it should be treated with care.

Ellis provides a one year warranty on all pieces of jewellery from the date of purchase, provided it has not been worked on by another jeweller or the damage does not go beyond accepted patterns of wear. Beyond the warranty period, Ellis will quote for any necessary repairs on a case by case basis.

Klarna

Who is Klarna?

How does Pay later in 3 interest-free instalments work?

Pay later in 3 interest-free instalments will allow you to spread the cost of your purchase over 3 equal payments. The payment for each instalment will automatically be collected from the debit or credit card you entered at checkout. Your first instalment will be collected when your order is confirmed by ELLIS MHAIRI CAMERON and instalments 2 and 3 are scheduled 30 and 60 days later, respectively. You can always monitor your payments’ schedule in the Klarna app.

Am I eligible for Pay later in 3 interest-free instalments?

To use Pay later in 3 interest-free instalments you must be at least 18. Whilst this option is widely promoted, Pay later in 3 interest-free instalments is subject to your financial circumstances. When choosing Pay later in 3 interest-free instalments, our assessment will not affect your credit rating.

How can I increase my chances of being accepted for Pay later in 3 interest-free instalments?

Klarna is unique and offers Pay later in 3 interest-free instalments based on a number of factors such as the order value, previous order history and item availability. If you are 18 or over, you can improve your chances of being offered Pay later in 3 interest-free instalments by ensuring you provide your full name and accurate address details and shipping to your registered billing address. All orders are assessed individually. Just because you have been accepted for a Klarna payment method before does not mean it will be offered for every order and in turn, if it is denied it does not mean it will be denied for all future orders.

What do I need to provide when I make a purchase?

If you want to make a purchase with Klarna using Pay later in 3 interest-free instalments, you’ll need to provide your mobile phone number, email address, current billing address and a debit or card card. The mobile number is required in case we need to reach you. All communications will be sent to your email address. It’s very important that you give us the correct details, as otherwise you will not receive your payment schedule and any updated order information.

Will a credit search take place against me?

Klarna may run so-called unrecorded enquiries (or soft credit searches) that do not affect credit scoring and are only visible to you and Klarna, but not visible to other lenders. Neither Klarna nor ELLIS MHAIRI CAMERON run credit searches against you that could impact your credit rating.

Why have I not been offered Pay later in 3 interest-free instalments?

Although Pay later in 3 interest-free instalments is widely promoted it is not always universally available. The Pay later in 3 interest-free instalments payment option is automatically generated by algorithms that are dependent upon a number of factors including address details, cardholder details, amount of order, the online store, previous order history and item availability.

What are my payment options with Klarna?

Payment for your Pay later in 3 interest-free instalments will automatically be collected from the debit or credit card you entered at checkout. The first payment is taken when the order is confirmed. The second and third  instalments are collected 30 and 60 days, respectively, after the first instalment. You can always monitor your payments’ schedule in the Klarna app.

What happens if I cancel or return my order?

As soon as ELLIS MHAIRI CAMERON have accepted your cancellation/return, Klarna will cancel any future scheduled payments as well as refund any amounts due. The return will be reflected in the Klarna app immediately.

What happens if I don’t pay for my order?

Klarna will automatically attempt to collect your payment for your Pay later in 3 interest-free instalments purchase at ELLIS MHAIRI CAMERON from the debit or credit card you entered at checkout. If we are unable to collect your payment on the scheduled due date Klarna will make one further attempt to automatically collect payment two days later. Should this last payment attempt fail, Klarna will issue you a statement for the full outstanding order amount which will become payable 15 days later. Klarna shall notify you when a payment is due two days in advance of attempting to collect your payment and you can always monitor the due date in Klarna app at your convenience. Your credit score will not be impacted by using Klarna’s ‘Pay later in 3 instalments’ product even if you have failed to pay on time.

If a payment has been collected but you have not received payment confirmation, you can always check the status of your order and payments in the Klarna app or by logging in at www.klarna.com/uk.

What happens to my statement, when I’ve returned the goods?

Once ELLIS MHAIRI CAMERON has received the return (partial or full) and you have received their confirmation of this, an updated statement with an adjusted payment schedule will be sent to you by Klarna if you’ve made a partial return. With a full return, we shall refund any payments collected and cancel any future scheduled payments. You are always able to monitor the status of your order in the Klarna app.
